Some other reviewers compared the noise emitted to a lawn mower. Regarding that, If my lawn mower made this much noise I would be looking for a new one! This is my first experience with a generator so I have nothing similar to compare the noise to and apparently after researching other generators "it's the nature of the beast". To try to dull the noise I have built an insulated enclosure for it but even that needs plenty of fresh air circulation so it is of very limited benefit. My only disappointment was that I had selected this one over others because of the 12voltDC receptacle which I had a use for but I find that it puts out about 16.8 volts! The 12volt instrument to be plugged in to that is delicate and expensive so I contacted the generators customer service (who were very polite and helpful)and was told that is typical and not defective. Before I purchased the Soleus Air MT1-19-32 Misting Fan, my patio would get up to about 120 degrees fahrenheit and now it is a tolerable 97 degrees. So the fan does what it is advertised to do and then some. The only thing I don't like (which is not the fans fault)is when it is turned up to the maximum mist setting, you have to fill up the tank about once an hour. The plus sides -- it works independently so you don't lose a skimmer like with you do with other models. You put the unit into the pool and there are two options for cleaning, a full cycle and a "quick clean." You use the cycle dependent upon how dirty the pool is. This unit cleans very easily and it really works great. If you have a lot of algae in the pool it will not climb the sides of the pool, it will simply slide down. Here's the down side with a vinyl pool and we found out the hard way: if you do not have a heavy gauge pool liner this unit can pick up a pebble and drill it right through your liner. Since then I've spent about $600.00 in repairs and maintenance. When it works, it works well. Here is a list of what I've had to do for it. General maintenance: Replace all belts (three times). This is costly. I've repaired a broken wire for the unit. The drive motor has died once also. Repairs can only be completed by the manufacturer. Shipping is costly and repairs expensive. I'd much rater buy a unit that doesn't rely on an additional power source and have so many extra parts that always need to be replaced. Open feeding leads to over weight, knee problems and diabetic cats. This feeder works decent. Positives include easy to program, different or same feed times everyday, ability to adjust amount of food easily, chew proof cord and it is quiet. Negatives include auger is easily reached by cat allowing about 10 extra kibbles to fall out if the cat plays with it enough. It only took my cat about a week to figure this out. I have not had any problems since its purchase and my cats no longer wake me for food at 3 am. I built a divider so the food goes into two bowls, one for each cat, and it works good. This unit is pricey but works well. The quality of the product seems cheap for the price, but nothing has malfunctioned. Semi could not come into our dirveway so we had to transfer them onto our truck to get them to the house. Description says microfiber and leather. It is microfiber but not leather. The leather is a vynil leather look a like. You cannot tell after you put it together that it is not leather. We really like the way the furnature comes apart. It will make it much easier to get in and out of doors if and when we ever move again. You will need 2 people to lift the boxes into the room that you want to put it together in. It is a sting trimmer inverted with a funnel on top. I used this to shred all my fall leaves - works great. My wife would load them and I would give it a bit of a stir with a stick. Shaking the unit back and forth will get small sticks to fall through without killing the strings. Don't abuse it and it will work great. Forget what its purpose is and you will get grumpy and write negative reviews on Amazon. Leaf mulch went well on our beds, some of our plants didn't even die back - they were nice and toasty warm under their 4 inch blanket of shredded leaves. Just had to play the guessing game of when to remove some of the mulch to let the plants grow. Too soon and the spring frost will get them. Too late and they will end up stringy. I love my shredder. It isn't any heavier than the better 2 cycle units; and based on past usage of 4 cycle vs. 2 cycle small engines, it will probably last a lot longer.
